Operations Manager (Freight Forwarding)
Location: Hanoi, Vietnam
Department: Operations
Reports to: General Manager / Country Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee day-to-day freight forwarding operations (air, sea, road, multimodal).
- Ensure smooth handling of import, export, and cross-border shipments in compliance with Vietnamese regulations.
- Coordinate with airlines, shipping lines, trucking companies, customs brokers, and overseas agents.
- Supervise and support the operations team; allocate workload and monitor performance.
- Control shipment documentation (HBL/MBL, AWB, invoices, packing lists, customs declarations).
- Monitor operational KPIs: on-time delivery, cost control, service quality, and claim management.
- Handle operational issues, delays, claims, and customer escalations professionally.
- Optimize operational processes and SOPs to improve efficiency and cost performance.
- Coordinate closely with Sales to support quotations, routing, and service execution.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, contracts, and service-level agreements.
Requirements
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in freight forwarding / logistics operations.
- Strong knowledge of air and sea freight, Incoterms, customs procedures, and local regulations.
- Proven team management or supervisory experience.
- Good command of English (spoken and written).
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with international agent networks is an advantage.
Preferred Background
- Experience in multinational or international forwarding companies.
- Familiarity with Europe, CIS, Central Asia, or intra-Asia trade lanes is a plus.
