Operations Manager (Freight Forwarding)

Location: Hanoi, Vietnam

Department: Operations

Reports to: General Manager / Country Manager

Key Responsibilities

• • Manage and oversee day-to-day freight forwarding operations (air, sea, road, multimodal).
  • Ensure smooth handling of import, export, and cross-border shipments in compliance with Vietnamese regulations.
  • Coordinate with airlines, shipping lines, trucking companies, customs brokers, and overseas agents.
  • Supervise and support the operations team; allocate workload and monitor performance.
  • Control shipment documentation (HBL/MBL, AWB, invoices, packing lists, customs declarations).
  • Monitor operational KPIs: on-time delivery, cost control, service quality, and claim management.
  • Handle operational issues, delays, claims, and customer escalations professionally.
  • Optimize operational processes and SOPs to improve efficiency and cost performance.
  • Coordinate closely with Sales to support quotations, routing, and service execution.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, contracts, and service-level agreements.

Requirements

• • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in freight forwarding / logistics operations.
  • Strong knowledge of air and sea freight, Incoterms, customs procedures, and local regulations.
  • Proven team management or supervisory experience.
  • Good command of English (spoken and written).
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with international agent networks is an advantage.

Preferred Background

• • Experience in multinational or international forwarding companies.
  • Familiarity with Europe, CIS, Central Asia, or intra-Asia trade lanes is a plus.
