Component & System Test Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Analyze specified requirements.

- Design and implement test cases.

- Execute tests, retests, and regression tests.

- Evaluate test results.

- Document and archive work products.

- Create bug tickets.

RIGHTS

- Approve component and system requirement specifications.

- Review test designs and implementations.

- Exercise veto rights regarding local deviations from company architecture standards.

- Identify and apply suitable tools for software test architecture development.

- Develop prototypes to implement innovative ideas, especially in testing.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Find as many errors as possible in the device under test with an appropriate level of effort.

- Ensure the reusability, applicability, availability, reproducibility, and quality of work results.

- Ensure information regarding detected errors, corrective actions, and lessons learned is properly distributed across the global environment.

REQUIREMENTS

- Good experience with Python scripting, preferably in embedded or software testing environments.

- Good knowledge of software testing, especially Unit Testing, Component Testing, and System Testing.

- Solid background in embedded systems and a good understanding of embedded software architecture and development.

- Ability to analyze requirements, design test cases, and execute tests, retests, and regression tests.

- Ability to analyze test results, identify defects, and create clear bug tickets.

- Experience in reviewing test designs and implementations is an advantage.

- Ability to identify and apply suitable tools for software test automation.

- Good English communication skills for daily meetings and discussions with stakeholders in Germany.

- Junior or Middle level; practical experience in Embedded Software Testing is preferred.
