Head of Development
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Company’s short-term and long-term development strategies in alignment with the overall business development strategy of the parent company.
- Manage and adjust the organizational structure; conduct talent mapping and workforce planning in line with the development direction of the employee organization.
- Develop and manage the operating budget allocation plan, ensuring optimal and efficient use of capital; conduct periodic budget reviews.
- Participate in the evaluation and hiring decisions for key positions.
- Collaborate with the management team to conduct performance reviews, assess capabilities, review development paths, and make promotion/personnel adjustment decisions.
- Establish, monitor, and evaluate the Company’s key KPI system, including delivery, technical, security, and business-support indicators; propose organizational improvement plans.
- Organize and coordinate regular management meetings, growth committee meetings, and company-wide meetings to align development direction, address organizational issues, and drive operational improvement.
- Represent the Company in working with the parent company, participate in senior management/parent company-level meetings to align direction, support decision-making, and coordinate strategic operational matters.
- Coordinate activities related to onsite vendors, monitor progress, and resolve arising issues.
- Take responsibility for periodic management reports, including organizational status, operational efficiency, budget, finance, and key issues that need to be escalated to the executive level/parent company.
Candidate Requirements
Experience
- Experience as a CEO, COO, CTO, Country Manager, General Manager, Senior Manager, or in an equivalent leadership role.
- Experience managing and leading organizations and developing teams in the technology sector, especially software development teams, product teams, or delivery organizations.
- Experience working in startups, technology companies, fintech, blockchain, AI, or outsourcing/product development is an advantage.
- Experience working with Japanese clients/partners or international markets is a strong advantage.
Professional Competencies
- Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to understand direction from the parent company, align with stakeholders, and translate it into concrete action plans for the product development organization in Vietnam.
- Solid understanding of software technology, product development processes, project management, and delivery.
- Understanding of AI and the ability to guide and promote the application of AI in product development processes, team management, and organizational operational optimization.
- Strong organizational management capability, including establishing systems, processes, and measurement mechanisms.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Having knowledge of or hands-on experience with the following tech stacks:
○ Backend: nestJS(Node JS), Golang, Python
○ Database: Redis, My SQL, SQL Server
○ Frontend: Vue JS, React JS, Next JS, Nuxt JS
○ Mobile: React Native, Android Native, Swift
○ DevOps: Git, CI/CD, Docker, Jenkins, GitLabCD, Grafana, Loki, Kubernetes, BI Tools,
Data Platform…
○ Cloud: AWS
