Delivery Manager (Hands-on OutSystems)

Responsibilities

Service Delivery & Project Ownership

  • Own end-to-end delivery of OutSystems applications, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Define and refine delivery frameworks covering solution design, development productivity, quality assurance, and release management
  • Monitor application lifecycle activities including development, enhancements, and support, ensuring compliance with delivery, quality, and governance standards
  • Act as the primary point of contact for escalations related to application delivery, performance, or quality
  • Conduct regular delivery reviews, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Drive delivery efficiency with a focus on cost optimization, productivity improvement, and customer satisfaction

Driving Operational Excellence

  • Collaborate with business, architects, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth execution of BAU and project activities
  • Take ownership of assigned application/project portfolio, ensuring consistent delivery quality and operational stability
  • Track project health, team performance, and application KPIs; proactively address issues and bottlenecks
  • Troubleshoot complex technical and functional issues, providing alternate and sustainable solutions
  • Anticipate delivery or technical risks and highlight them early to stakeholders with clear solution options
  • Establish and refine development standards, processes, and controls to improve team productivity and code quality
  • Ensure high standards of documentation, version control, and change management for all OutSystems developments
  • Define and maintain dashboards to track delivery metrics, application health, defects, performance, and SLAs
  • Review customer satisfaction (CSAT) feedback and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Technical Leadership (OutSystems Focus)

  • Lead architecture, design, and development of OutSystems web and mobile applications
  • Ensure adherence to OutSystems best practices related to performance, security, scalability, and maintainability
  • Guide the team on integration patterns (REST/SOAP APIs, microservices), database design, and cloud deployments
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, environment management, and release processes
  • Stay updated with OutSystems platform updates and recommend adoption where beneficial

Resource Management & Talent Development

  • Manage and mentor OutSystems developers, ensuring optimal resource utilization across projects
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture aligned with organizational values
  • Support recruitment activities including technical assessments and onboarding of OutSystems talent
  • Drive performance management through regular feedback, coaching, and annual performance reviews
  • Identify skill gaps and support competency and career development plans for team members
  • Promote employee engagement, retention, and continuous learning

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in application development/support with strong hands-on OutSystems experience
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring development teams
  • Excellent English communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven experience delivering applications in enterprise-scale environments with governance processes
  • Strong knowledge of low-code platforms (OutSystems preferred), cloud computing, APIs, and modern application architectures
  • Good understanding of databases, integrations, and infrastructure concepts
  • Experience working in Agile and Waterfall delivery models
  • Solid project management skills with a track record of successful delivery
  • Ability to work in complex, ambiguous environments and resolve critical issues effectively

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Experience in Service Delivery Management and Operational Excellence
  • Exposure to vendor coordination and third-party service management
  • Strong people management skills including resource planning, talent development, and team building
  • Knowledge of performance optimization, application monitoring, and support models
